Extended 2 hour Assessment
An in-depth assessment involving additional psychometrics
Service Description
If after your telephone consultation Dr Solomon felt you would benefit from an extended assessment then this will involve completing some psychometric tests for Dr Solomon to score, in addition to her clinical assessment of multiple life areas. Often a problem is not new, but has been there, interfering with your relationships, your ability to focus on the things that are important, or sabotaging your life and happiness in other ways. Often the way you have coped with life events can have inadvertently wreaked havoc in the long-term. Often this is the case when people start using avoidance, food, alcohol or drugs as props for confidence, anxiety, feelings of failure or low mood. Where there is a trauma history there can be many layers of difficulty which need gently and expertly identifying. Just to reassure you, where there is a trauma history it is not necessary to go into this during the assessment. Simply letting me know you have experienced trauma in the past is all that is needed at this stage and we can decide if it is necessary to revisit it. Trauma work, if needed, is extremely effective.
